What is TechUp?
TechUp is an online training academy that runs bootcamps and courses for individuals wanting to start a career in tech. By broadening access to high-paying, high-quality jobs, we strengthen social and economic mobility in Thailand while also accelerating the country’s digital transformation. We are now partnering with Eskwelabs , a data bootcamp provider from the Philippines, to jointly launch a part-time Data Analytics Bootcamp in Thailand. Our first cohort of 20-30 learners will start in late October. We are looking for part-time Data Analytics Instructors with a passion for data and for developing others, who will equip our learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to start their career as Data Analysts.
What is this role?
Our Instructors will be the primary teacher that brings their existing knowledge of data tools and techniques to the learning experience. They will adapt our materials, prepare lessons and teach a specific set of topics in order to equip learners and give them the confidence to apply their newfound knowledge and skills after graduating from the program. Each instructor teaches for a “sprint” of 2 weeks. A sprint consists of the following schedule:
- Two Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 18.00-21.00
- One Saturday (at the end of the Sprint), 13.00-16.00
Our first cohort will run from 28 October to 21 December. Each Instructor will teach for one of the following 4 sprints:
- Sprint 1: 28 October - 9 November
- Sprint 2: 11 November - 23 November
- Sprint 3: 25 November - 7 December
- Sprint 4: 9 December - 21 December
The role is fully remote.
Why is this role important?
You may be familiar with education and training experiences where the primary form of learning is through the interaction between the instructor and the student.
We believe in harmony among instructors, students, and mentors. As the instructor, you are the teacher who introduces concepts, tools, and skills to the learners in a Zoom classroom. Once they are set to work on their activities that lead to the building of their data projects, you send them off into breakout room sessions where they’ll be working with mentors (typically full-time data professionals). Each cohort is broken down into smaller groups of 5, where there is 1 mentor for every 5 learners. As the instructor, the mentors look up to you as inspiration and guidance.
What are your responsibilities?
- Teaching learners (in Thai)
- Curriculum Planning
- Lead a curriculum check before the cohort starts
- Identify follow up activities for learners to do after the bootcamp to reinforce their mastery of topics taught in class
- Content Creation and Support
- Review curriculum content that has been translated from English to ensure they are ready for learners (content includes slides, datasets, notebooks, cheatsheets, videos and additional resources)
- Facilitation and Reflection
- Lead retrospectives after class and after sprints or cohort
- Collaborate with our program managers (including in English) to update tasks, issues, propose opinions or etc.
Desired attributes:
- Role as a data professional in your full-time job (e.g. BI Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Visualization Analyst, Data Engineer, etc.) for more than 12 months where you utilize data tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Python, R, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills both in Thai and English (minimum English skill at B2 CEFR level is a plus)
- Passionate about helping others learn, passionate about data
- Collaborative and facilitation skills
- Ability to engage and empathize with adult learners
- Previous mentoring experience is a plus

- Compensation of 10,000 baht per 2-week sprint. Instructors may opt to teach more than 1 sprint.
