Learning Program Manager

Operations|Full Time

About TechUp

TechUp is a social enterprise that runs full-time and part-time online coding courses for individuals who want to start a career as a software developer or software engineer. By broadening access to tech careers and high-quality jobs, we strengthen social and economic mobility in Thailand while also accelerating the country’s digital transformation. Our full-time bootcamps target people with no prior programming experience, take them through 4 months of intensive training in tech skills, soft skills, and career skills, and connect them with job opportunities at our employer partners. To minimize financial barriers, we offer our students the option of delaying tuition fee payment until after they have secured a job. In 2024 we plan to launch new courses in both software development and data analytics, and are looking for a new Learning Program Manager to support this new growth.

Role scope

We are seeking a full-time Learning Program Manager to manage the end-to-end experience of our bootcamp students, from admission into the bootcamp all the way to job placement and beyond. The Learning Program Manager’s key mission will be to shape our bootcamps into the best possible learning experience for our diverse group of students. The role will also entail working closely with our instructors and teaching assistants to streamline our operations in order to support the growth of our business.

The role will report to our Senior Program Manager and key tasks will include:

  • Manage our bootcamp admissions process, including interviewing shortlisted applicants and supporting them through the application and onboarding journey.
  • Build our online presence by creating social media content and responding to social media queries from potential bootcamp applicants.
  • Gather data and insights on student and alumni experience using surveys and 1-1 check-ins, synthesize and communicate findings to the team to generate improvement ideas.
  • Coach students and alumni on job application and interview skills.
  • Implement projects and initiatives to improve the learning experience in our bootcamps and the support we provide to our alumni.
  • Work on special projects with our co-founders.

Why Join Us

  • Be part of a mission-driven team that is pioneering a new model of education and skills training in Thailand, and working to make income opportunities more equal in our country.
  • Strengthen your management skills through biweekly 1-1 coaching and feedback with our CEO (ex-McKinsey, Stanford MBA, Harvard Kennedy School alum) as well as our Senior Program Manager.
  • Hybrid work environment (in office 1-2 days per week) with a team that combines a collaborative culture with individual autonomy.
  • Starting monthly salary of 20,000-30,000 baht. (negotiable)
  • Outpatient care health insurance, including telehealth service.

Desired attributes

  • A strong interest in giving back to society and creating opportunities for others.
  • Self-starter with strong project management skills, with experience initiating and leading team projects or businesses.
  • Comfort with being data driven, including data analysis and presentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Thai and English, including being an empathetic listener.
  • Highly coachable and able to receive and incorporate feedback regularly.
  • Experience working in a fast-changing or startup environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in education, workforce skills training, and/or tech is a plus, but not required.

(We welcome applications from recent graduates who have extensive internship experiences and a track record leading projects in student organizations or volunteer work.)

This role may NOT be a good fit if you:

  • Do not have a strong interest in creating positive social impact through your work.
  • Prefer working alone rather than as part of a team.
  • Prefer working in a large-scale, well-established organization with fixed organizational structures, hierarchies, and processes.
  • Feel uncomfortable with the idea of collaborating and empathizing with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Find it challenging to receive and incorporate constructive feedback.

To apply, please submit your application at this link. If you have any questions or are simply curious, feel free to get in touch with us via our Facebook page or by email at team@techupth.com. If you are interested in us, we want to hear from you!
